Estonian Jazz Real Book

This is the premier issue of the Estonian Jazz Real Book that is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the first Estonian Jazz concert. The idea of this book is to introduce and popularize jazz music composed by Estonian musicians. It is mainly intended to be used by musicians and music students. Since an important part of Jazz studies involves acquiring a common repertoire, usually with the help of books similar to this one, then it is exciting to nally be able to have a book with a local selection of music. You will nd songs from 84 different composers. Among modern and contemporary you can also find some old classics. The music is notated in lead sheet format. Tempos, styles and forms are primarily suggestive. The scores leave plenty of room for stylistic and formal interpretation. Most of the music published here is also available on recordings. Comments from composers are added in underlined italics. We hope you will enjoy playing and exploring this collection!
