Mikk Kaasik

Mikk Kaasik is a jazz pianist and vocalist, with music having been a constant presence in his life from an early age. His musical journey began at the age of seven with classical piano lessons and singing. His passion for jazz piano grew during his studies at the Heino Eller Music School and the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, where he studied under Jürmo Eespere.
 
In the summer of 2024, Mikk released his debut album, Take One. One of the album’s tracks, Rapid Resonance, won first prize at the Uno Naissoo Composition Competition. Mikk is currently active in Some Times, a collaborative project with drummer Marten Männa. Their debut album, Oddly Even, was released in autumn 2026.
In 2025, Mikk was awarded the Estonian Young Jazz Talent Award and named the audience favourite by Eesti Päevaleht. His musical influences include such artists and legends as Cory Wong, Ray Thistlethwayte, Michael League and Quincy Jones.

Mikk is active across a number of bands and musical projects, has recorded albums and collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Some Times, Rita Ray, Reket, NOËP, INGRA, Near Motion, Lilaru, Orelipoiss, Terminal House Band, TripleTone and Sofia Rubina, among many others.
