As they say, “THERE’S SOMETHING IN THE NIGHT”
The vast majority of musicians around the globe work at night or at least are characterised by work that one way or another stretches into the night. There are probably not many night jobs that can be considered a hobby at the same time but this is exactly the case with jazz musicians: for the most part, their work is done gladly, in spite of the night. An ÖöTöÖ (night work) concert is a good example of that.
The programme includes music that was mostly born at night. The concert will feature new material by Toomas Rull and new night-time treatments from older pieces. The music belongs to a stylish world of jazz without borders, is upbeat, engaging and dancing.
The ÖÖTÖÖ Quintet’s night shift includes:
Allan Järve – night trumpeter
Danel Aljo – night tenor saxophone
Raun Juurikas – night keyboards
Heikko Remmel – night bass
Toomas Rull – night drums
P.S. Who knows, maybe the 2019 bird of the year as chosen by Estonia’s ornithologists will be the NIGHTJAR?
The concert starts at 7 p.m. and is held in Haapsalu Culture Centre.
Tickets are available at Piletilevi and on-site, prices being €6 or €8 accordingly.
